EUCAST Consultation on the revision of ciprofloxacin breakpoints for N.meningitidis.
EUCAST breakpoints for Neisseria meningitidis currently include an intermediate category for ciprofloxacin (Susceptible ≤0.03 mg/L, Intermediate 0.06 mg/L, Resistant >0.06 mg/L). When breakpoints were originally set ciprofloxacin resistance was very rare and the intermediate category was included as an area of uncertainty and a technical buffer zone. It is proposed that the intermediate category is removed. Please use the response formto respond no later than the 12th of September, 2014.
