Fluoroquinolone breakpoints under review

Fluroquinolone breakpoints are under review and will likely be lowered for Enterobacterales whereas breakpoints for other species are less likely to change. Laboratories and manufacturers of susceptibility testing devices are adviced to take this under consideration and to be prepared to cope with significantly lower breakpoints for systemic infections. Concentration series for testing will ideally encompass ECOFFs (0.06 and 0.125 mg/L for most Enterobacterales).
