The correlation between MIC and inhibition zone diameters in disk diffusion is excellent when utilizing species specific breakpoints for anaerobic species and species groups, in the same way EUCAST has dealt with facultative aerobic bacteria over the last 25 years. In this presentation the EUCAST data from several years of development of disk diffusion criteria for anaerobic bacteria is presented.
