Happy New Year from the EUCAST

This is to wish all EUCAST users a happy and successful new year and to summarise some recent changes and additions to the EUCAST system.

• New guidance onScreening for resistance of clinical significance.
• How to deal withbreakpoints in bracketsin EUCAST breakpoint tables.
• RAST updates- rapid AST directly from positive blood culture bottles.

• Revised breakpoints for Corynebacterium diphtheriae and Corynebacterium ulcerans
• Review of breakpoints and methods for viridans streptococci.
• Extension of thelist of agents with breakpoints for anaerobic bacteria
• RAST - criteria for extended incubation time beyond 8h.
• Dosing tables for paediatrics in collaboration with ESPID (European Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases)
