Breakpoints are based on exposure at the site of infection.
EUCAST breakpoints are based on and related to exposure, dose, dosing frequency, form of administration and the pharmacokinetics of the agent. This is emphasised by the 2019 changes in the definitions of S, I and R. EUCAST now publish the dosing tab in the breakpoint table as a separate document. The document was submitted for general consultation during 2018 and this led to some changes now incorporated in the new dosing tab. Sections marked in pale yellow constitute a change compared to last year´s table.
